On November 4th 2023, St Joseph's Church Perenjori was re-opened following repair and conservation work. The Church had been closed since Cylone Seroja caused extensive damage in April 2021.
Bishop Michael Morrissey was accompanied by Parish Priest Fr Robert O'Bryan, Diocesan Director of Heritage Fr Robert Cross, Vicar General Fr Gerard Totanes, and Dongara Parish Priest Fr Steve Casey in celebrating a Vigil Mass for locals, ex-residents, and visitors from other parishes.
The Church was almost full after many years of emptiness and all those present were extremely impressed with the finished product.
