Altar for Holy Soul’s Chapel - St Mary the Virgin Church – Nassau

During Hawes’s time in the Bahamas in the early 1900’s he designed what was to become one of his ‘typical,’ simple, roughcast, hand crafted, altars dedicated to the Holy Souls for the St Mary the Virgin Church in Nassau.  Hawes was a friend of the Rector of St Mary’s Fr Lowndes, and preached his last sermon as an Anglican Minister in this Church.
